As a manufacturer of industrial labels and nameplates GSM Graphic Arts has welcomed new technology and processes to their catalogue of capabilities. We made the investment into our anodising plant/line to ensure that we continue to manufacture industrial anodised aluminium labels and nameplates in-house for many more years to come.

Anodising is the process whereby the anodising team submerge aluminium into sulphuric acid and electrically charge it, this causes the aluminium to oxidise and effectively opens the pores of the surface. This enables our printing team to either digitally or screen print into the aluminium’s pores which are then sealed to provide a robust and durable industrial nameplate or label.

Being an industrial nameplate manufacturer in the UK we also produce etched stainless steel labels. This process begins as we manufacture the screen used to print the chemical resist that is screen printed onto the stainless steel surface to provide areas of detail on the plate before the stainless nameplate is immersed into an acid solution. This acid solution chemically etches away any areas that have not been printed with the chemical resist leaving behind the required detail and an extremely hard-wearing industrial label that is suitable for use in the harshest of environments such as; oil rigs, offshore and marine.
