U-coil / U-print
Product Overview
Our U-Coil product is a range of anodised sheet aluminium available in various
finishes and gauges. For many of our customers, U-Coil is a raw material used
for nameplate manufacture, but others craft it into jewellery and sculpture.
Due to the nature of the material, it is unsuitable for panel manufacture. Anodised
aluminium has a hardwearing finish that is suitable for display outside.
Initially, the metal is in a delicate state, absorbing moisture from the air
and even grease from your fingertips. Once the metal has been affected in this
way, the marks will show after printing. But once sealed, it can withstand almost
any abuse.

Inks
There are two different types of ink on sale. The standard U-print ink comes
only in primary colours enabling customers to mix their own shades, whereas the
non-standard U-print ink has many more vibrant shades and colours. Samples of
these are available on request. Should you wish to dilute your inks, diluent is
available, as is sealing liquid.
Alternatives
It is also possible to use water proof felt-tip pens to colour the aluminium,
but the resulting colours may not turn out as you expect. Organic dyes can also
be used. Basically, any ink, that penetrates the pores in the anodic coating should
work well.
