What Are Injection Moulded Badges Used For?

Durable, versatile and delivering strong visual impact, injection moulded badges can be applied for product branding, nameplates, promotional items and bag tags. They are commonly sourced for applications across electronics and assembly, audio, visual and lighting, sports and leisure, automotive, warehousing and more.

Our Injection Moulding Process: How It Works

During the moulding process, your chosen material is heated to a liquid and then injected into a tooling cavity. This is then cooled correctly to harden the plastic, creating the shape of your badge or design.

This can be done using low-cost machined aluminium tooling. Choose from a range of different coloured thermoplastics depending on the application and budget, including High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS), Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene thermoplastic (ABS) and more.

Once moulded in your choice of coloured plastic, the raised detail on the badge can be hot-foil tipped in a number of coloured foils, including silver, gold as well as a range of standard colours.

Typically, we can produce any badge size up to 300 x 200mm and can produce any regular shape, or even something that’s profiled to your requirements.

For more complex requirements, a bespoke steel tooling may be required. Our team will be able to advise on the best course of action for your needs.

These badges can be supplied flat-backed with a self-adhesive pad, or fixing holes can be incorporated. Alternatively, the badges can be moulded with pins for location or for fixing the badges with a spring washer applied from the rear.
