Aluminium
GSM uses different grades of aluminium and different finishes depending on customer's requirements although the stock aluminium sheet that we use for the majority of our anodised aluminium labels and nameplates is 5251-grade aluminium.
Why Choose Aluminium Nameplates?
One of the benefits of 5251 aluminum is that it has an 88.6% recycled content and so selecting this material also reduces the need to use virgin materials. 5251 aluminium is fully recyclable, so is a far more sustainable choice than alternative materials.
We pre-anodise 5251 aluminium sheets for stock which are then either digitally or screen printed and sealed to provide am extremely hard-wearing grained satin finish.
Upon request we can also use J57 aluminium, an Architectural Grade aluminium which offers a consistent and repeatable anodised finish. J57 is a 5000 series alloy also regarded as a Marine Grade material.
If a bright aluminium finish is required then we can offer 4400 Mirror Bright aluminium which is bought in as a pre-anodised finish and surface printed as required. This finish is often specified for Audi products however the finish is very delicate and liable to mark and scratch if not handled with extreme care.
White faced aluminium is powder coated on one side and weather resistant. We can either digitally print or surface print the graphics onto the white face to achieve a striking finish. This option is used for warning signs and notices.
