Stainless Steel

304 stainless steel is sometimes still referred to by it’s old name 18/8 because it contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel. 304 stainless offers exceptional corrosion resistance and is used primarily for industrial applications. It is available in Bright Annealed, Super Bright and 240 grit Brushed finishes.

316 stainless steel is used for marine, medical, and chemical applications due to the fact it contains 2% molybdenum which makes it significantly more resistant to saltwater and chemicals than 304 stainless. 316 is processed in the same way as 304 stainless and is available in the same finishes but it is a more expensive raw material.

These are generally chemically etched to the artwork and then infilled with a coloured ink and cured to provide a durable and hard wearing finish. For low volume requirements, or where unique data such as serial numbers or barcodes are required, we can fibre laser mark the detail into the stainless steel.
