The Made in Yorkshire Exhibition

GSM Graphic Arts is part of the GSM Group of companies and along with our sister company GSM Valtech exhibited at the Made in Yorkshire exhibition.

The Made in Yorkshire event was full with companies who manufacture their products in Yorkshire as GSM Graphic Arts does.
Products that GSM Graphic Arts showcased included our digitally printed anodised aluminium barcodes that are manufactured at our site in Thirsk, North Yorkshire.

Anodising is the process of electrically charging the aluminium to open its pores which we can then digitally or screen print into to create a protective barrier or anodic layer for the ink. This protects the design from scratching and weather proofs the label because of this anodised aluminium labels are great to use for outdoor or sports products and for audio equipment.

Another process that was showcased was our capability to under-surface, digitally or screen print onto plastic, again to create a hard wearing and durable label that protects the design that has been printed. Because GSM Graphic Arts can digitally print the plastic substrate we can also incorporate a barcode, variable information or photographic imagery so our customers design can be quite eccentric.

A more traditional yet still sought after process we were showcasing was etched and infilled stainless steel. Our site in Thirsk houses an etching line and an oven to bake the paint infilled into the label. This method has been used for many many years and is still very popular within the oil & gas market and for offshore applications because of its durability.
