Temp to Trainer

At GSM Graphic Arts we love to share stories of our employees success. This time, our employee, Reagan is centre of the spotlight.

Reagan joined GSM Graphic Arts after finishing college in 2016, this was as a temporary worker.

Reagan’s talent and dedication to the company was realised and his role was soon made permanent. Reagan was initially running our platen cutter which cuts plastic labels from sheet form to single or kiss-cut labels.

When a new machine arrived which would enable us to knife cut plastic labels and graphic overlays Reagan completed the training and was top trainer for all other team members.

Following on from this, Reagan was a founding member of our cross-functional team sharing with others his invaluable knowledge of plastic cutting processes whilst also learning metal cutting techniques. This aided Reagan to progress to lead the internal training of new and existing team members on all cutting equipment. Due to his extensive knowledge of our factory and manufacturing methods, Reagan was the main person who created job routes through the factory for all labels, nameplate and graphic overlays that were ordered. This then lead to Reagan’s involvement in the purchase and repair of tooling and machinery.

Alongside his everyday work Reagan has also completed his Forklift training and is looking to complete a diploma for AI in manufacturing this year.

Reagan has a passion for all things IT and in his spare time has built his own computer from scratch. His knowledge of this has proved invaluable on projects undertaken at GSM including a full tooling restructure and digitalisation and more recently training a robotic arm for use within our factory.

Throughout his journey at GSM, Reagan has celebrated many life achievements and milestones and one that was caught on camera was his 21st birthday. How young!

We are grateful to Reagan for his continued dedication to GSM Graphic Arts and are excited to see what else he can achieve in his career with us.
