40 Years at GSM
Last month our CEO, Paul Wright, celebrated 40 years at GSM. (We know, he doesn’t look old enough!)
Paul started his career at GSM Graphic Arts in August 1985 as a school leaver in the finishing department. His potential and passion were realised, and he was quickly promoted to team leader of the finishing department.
As GSM Graphic Arts grew and acquired a Group of companies Paul gained knowledge of the other companies within the group with as much dedication as he had shown GSM Graphic Arts.
Through his continuous improvement, training and commitment Paul became General Manager of the GSM Group of companies, becoming the right-hand man to the late, Barry Dodd who founded GSM Graphic Arts 10 years before Paul started.
Pauls hands on approach coupled with his knowledge and understanding of all departments within the company has ensured he remains a loyal, empathetic and well-respected leader within the company.
Current members of the GSM team (some who have worked with Paul the full 40 years) say…
“It is nice to have a manager at a senior level who is approachable and so ready to help”
“40 years is a huge milestone! In the 8 years I’ve worked with Paul, I’ve admired the vision, commitment, and the humour he brings every day that makes even the toughest challenges feel a little lighter.”
“Working with Paul for this last 30 years has been inspiring – if ever you have a problem to solve he is readily available for discussion and always helps to come up with a solution”
“Aside from his duties, Paul is a great listener and shows compassion towards the team”
Throughout his time at GSM, Paul has always ‘lead by example’ and that trait has also transferred into his passion for charitable events that have been organised. Whether these charitable occasions be a weekend carrying kit across the countryside for Shelterbox, dressing up as various characters, eating and donating to multiple bake sales and most recently participating in the Great North Run, Paul has always given 110%, as he does to his role, stakeholders and employees at GSM.
To become the inspirational leader he is, Paul has continued Barry Dodd’s legacy to be quick to recognise the potential of employees, encourage them to strive to achieve their best and then celebrate their success when they conquer.
Congratulations and thank you, Paul.
